Happy Good Friday! The theme of today’s blog post is ‘you are amazing’ because we’re wowed by the kindness of so many people and wanted to share. We also thought we’d share some ideas of things to do during lockdown. Hope you enjoy.and have a great Easter Weekend. Lots of love, Mud xo
Firstly, we wanted to spotlight three local businesses that are doing amazing things to help during COVID-19.
Kothel
Kothel is an artisan cafe based in Glasgow, they have three outlets (Bearsden, GWR and Crow Road). At Crow Road they are creating and delivering free food parcels for over 70s. If you know anyone who could benefit from this then please email Kothel at kothelgroup@outlook.com. If you are not in that category, you can still purchase lots of scrumptious goodies from Kothel. We would personally recommend the ‘Italian Night’ food box featuring everything you need for an authentic Italian meal.
Tan Luxe / Hand Luxe :
Tan Luxe, a skincare and self-tan brand based in Glasgow have been working behind the scenes to formulate an anti-bacterial hand sanitiser. Although not available to buy, 10,000 units of this super nourishing, rinse free hand sanitiser are being generously donated over the coming weeks to key workers to help combat the spread of the virus.
Bewdog
Internationally known bar Brewdog which started out in Aberdeen, have also been working super hard behind the scenes to produce hand sanitiser at their brewery. They have now packed & donated over 50,000 units for the NHS and local charities, with more in the making as we post!
Did You See Our Art Competition?
Last week we shared an art competition on Instagram, asking our followers to submit a drawing of one of our bouquets. Niamh Harley who beautifully painted our sunflower bouquet below was our winner. We were overwhelmed with the response and so impressed with the talent (lots of van Gogh’s in the making) that we decided to gift everyone that entered a 10% discount code to use on their next order. Thank you to everyone that entered, our day was definitely brightened with the masterpieces produced.
Gift Ideas For Someone Amazing.
Flowers
Nothing says you are amazing like a fresh bouquet of flowers... but as we aren’t able to offer that right now we’ve got a couple of alternatives : charming dried flower bouquets that can last up to three years or if you prefer fresh, you can now purchase a gift card to use when we have fresh flowers again.
Skincare
We love local brand White Rabbit founded by Melanie Blane. All of White Rabbit’s products are hand made in Scotland and all of their ingredients are 0% artificial and 100% naturally derived, meaning no palm oil, parabens or any other ’nasties’! We recommend the chocolate orange lip balm and rose & orange night cream.
NAF! Gift Voucher
We would all loooove a mani pedi from our BFFs at NAF! right now. However, that’s not available :(. The next best thing is purchasing their range of NAF! Stuff beautiful nail products online to keep your nails healthy during lockdown. Or for something to look forward to, purchase a NAF! Dollar$ Gift Voucher and treat yourself to bo$$ nails when the time comes.

Amazing Things To Do
Run For Heroes
Going for a run this week (whilst adhering to the NHS guidelines ofc)? Run For Heroes is a campaign set up by Olivia Strong where you can get fit and help the NHS. Step 1: Run (walk, jog or sprint…) 5k. Step 2: Donate £5 to Help For Heroes on Virgin Money. Step 3: Nominate 5 people to do the same. All proceeds will go to NHS Charities Together who actively support the welfare and the wellbeing of NHS staff during COVID-19.
Don’t forget to tag 5 friends on social media once you’re done to spread the word!
Read A Book
When you can’t get out, lose yourself in a new book. Books are a great way to explore new locations and meet new characters from the comfort of your sofa. You could also start a virtual book club with friends to stay connected during lockdown. For great book recommendations, click here! Or if you have a book you recommend, send us a message and we’ll spread the word.
Closet Cleanse
If you’re anything like us, your closet probably needs a good refresh. If you need some inspiration to get started, our friends Kirsty and Carolyn at Eleven Twenty Six are here to help. Kirsty and Carolyn have shared some top tips for organising, restyling and getting the best from your wardrobe on their Instagram, click here. If you do cleanse your closet, be sure to tag them in to your social media.
